Monster Strike used to be a good game. A phenomenal game. Im nearing 250 days logged on and Ive bought multiple orbs. I can do impossible level quests with friends via social media or through global co-op. I was loving the way the game was going. Then this update came along. According to Mixis studio Xflag, their core values are "in the human experience such as bowling and over a slice of pizza". How many people go bowling that also play MS? How many people can say theyve played MS over pizza? Why are these guys developing a game that is on the scope of North America and Australia? Do they know how many people live in certain towns in places like Montana, Idaho and Wyoming? How many of them have the time and the persuasion to get people to play local coop when they get the chance? These guys are a bunch of dumb idiots. This game was the reason I used to use my phone as often as I did. They killed it by removing the ability to play with friends. My friends all moved away to other states after college. I moved away. Why should I have to do work to find people to play with? How many people do you think I can convince to play with when NO ONE WANTS TO TRY IT? The fact that Xflag has no cultural understanding of their target market or geographic sense shows their incompetence. Do NOT download or play this game. Im moving to the Japanese server, which not only has global/social media co-op, but gets new things ALMOST A YEAR before NA does. Did I also mention orbs are a lot cheaper there? I hope Xflag employees will be out of a job. They deserve it for even considering this update. So long, Xflag, and good riddance.

Just updated to new version now game wont launch anymore. Tried restarting ipad. It just crashes right after I open the app.

In the history of any game, or really, anything... has it been a good idea to TAKE AWAY options. Unless it was to simplify it, in my opinion. And this is exactly what they did. They dented a HUGE population of their fan base by taking away the option to play with others around the world through social media. Easily would have been a 5 star game for me if it wasnt for that. But sadly, Ive quit the game due to that decision. Hopefully they recognize their mistake and fix it before its too late. On the bright side, I dont have my addiction to this game anymore so I can carry on with my life! Haha

Terrible move with the co-op features. They needed to be improved not removed. This dream you have of playing games in an arcade with a slice of pizza and pals doesnt exist anymore and trying to force players around the world on a mobile game to "get back to that" is a stubborn and stupid decision. I would love to have times like that but this isnt the way to make that happen. All you did was cripple what fun we were having with this game.

Monster strike was a pretty fun game until they removed online co-op. The main reason its so annoying is that in North America mobile games just arent that big compared to Japan. Its also much less crowded in terms of players (especially outside of cities), making finding people to play with (local co-op) pretty unrealistic and impossible. Granted, its not impossible to play solo, but its more tedious, possibly more expensive, less fun, and youre missing out on the in game prizes the company gives out for playing co-op with friends .

This game is very fun when you play it but whenever Im at the main menu Im confused AF. I recommend this game tho :)

This game is amazing but they should add a trading feature where you could trade with anybody and see and agree if they want to trade

Removal of social coop has been devastating to the loyal fan base of this game, and Ive gone from playing it daily to straight up opening the app and closing it right away because I realize I dont even want to play the game anymore. Gone from a beautiful 5 star game with amazing social media connectivity to a 1 star game. Way to turn your back on your loyal followers, mixi. Im the type of gamer that goes through the App Store every now and again to find some new games that I binge on for a week or so and move on. This game is well thought out and does not glitch. It is played by millions in Japan so it is vetted. The quality of this game cannot be understated. Though Ive probably dedicated far more hours than I should have to this game, Ive yet to spend a penny on it - and Ive never seen an ad. Absolutely brilliant. As of today, I have logged into this game for the 112th consecutive day. That should tell you how addictive this game can be. Youve been warned. At a beginner level, this game is essentially Pokemon without the walking around and a different battle style. You collect monsters, level them up, evolve them, and ascend them. You battle through stages on 1 player mode, or take on a hard stage with a few teammates. At an intermediate level you notice events that come on periodically to get more rare monsters. You try to play with others to gain "affinity" which grants you great rewards. You start to understand how to form a team with your monsters to tackle tougher stages. At an expert level, you begin using forums and guides to figure out what types of monsters to bring to extremely difficult stages, as well as how to beat them. You connect with other users to tackle difficult stages together. You begin to take advantage of one amazing aspect of this game - the events. Some last a whole weekend - for example, you find some friends or random teammates and play through a stage over and over again, getting vouchers which allow you to play rare stages. After beating the rare stages and getting the monsters from them, you can create an outstanding one of a kind monster that is the fruit of your labor. At a masterful level, you begin to max the "luck" of your monsters, ensuring that you get multiple drops from each quest. This takes weeks of dedication. If you coop with other players with max luck monsters, you could theoretically drop up to 11 of the rare monster you are after. This is a long process - I still do not have a max luck monster. The sheer continuity of the game, additions of levels, additions of monsters, and amazing growing community of the game will arouse you and keep you coming back so you can pull for another egg to hatch a monster from the egg machine. WARNING: as fun as this game can be, it can truly be unreasonably addictive and take up a ton of your time. Think Pokemon x multiplayer x always new updates x no set storyline to follow x over 1000 monsters x event-based levels x increased strategy. Yeah, I think that about covers it. Basically paradise on your phone.

Local coop with smartphones in the United States is very uncommon, so you basically killed your game by removing online coop. I can only play local coop because I have a 2nd device, without that Id be locked out of local coop only quests.

I like the game a lot but seriously need to change the co op play completely. I dont mind searching and adding friends but only being able to play with another person thats sitting right next to me is horrible. Id give a 5 star review but this game needs some slightly major changes.

Ok so you decided to ignore every single review about the online co-op and add some "new" features to make us possibly shut up. Yeah no, XFlag if you really care your fans and want to bring us together like you keep advertising why dont you actually listen to our complaints. We want to bring back the online co-op because it allowed us to interact with other players or possibly see new monsters weve never seen before. Limiting it only to local co-op is a very stupid decision mainly because you see here in the good ol US of A not everyone is out playing this game. Were not Japan XFlag you should realize that this game not as popular in the US as it is over there. If you actually care about your fans you should actually read our reviews and LISTEN TO US!!!

The game has been ignoring my monsters abilities since the last update.

This game is amazing but now that you can only play local multiplayer has made it a lot less than what it is. In addition the local multiplayer is somewhat laggy and slow.

I was compelled to get this app because of ads on YouTube but no friends likes to play this unless you add online mode. This has been a disappointment to many.

Please bring back our online co-op mode, that was one of the best features! Also more communication of strategy between players would be great ( lets defend, watch out for that, go for that enemy first, etc. ) And an easier way to find online matches with people in them – just have an option – put me in a level were people are. This game has a lot of good Play Action, its one of the app games I have played the most which is a big compliment Before: Its a lot like Pokémon with high-quality artwork and monsters to collect. The action takes place like pool or marbles, its a game of angles. ( you can interact with their characters when they arent online which is cool ) The leveling up system is too complicated and rather boring. Instead of getting exp from battles, you have to endlessly combine monsters to level up.

I love this game. Mostly because I was convenient enough to have a large group of people to play with. But still, this game is an amazing concept and has a lot of great artwork. Ive been hooked on it for a while and its been a great time-killer when hanging out with friends/fellow strikers. I look forward to future updates! The only suggestion I have is that maybe you introduce a system where you can use gold to purchase evolution materials like sharls and stoans? Maybe thats a stretch, but still I thought it was worth suggesting.

As a ms player clocking in at about 500 days, I beg of you. Please bring back global coop. The community is dead. There hasnt been any new content update in the past month. Hatchers have been the same. You can still fix this while you can. The ship hasnt completely sunk yet. Save MS, bring back global coop. Or else no one will be spending a penny on those orbs.

Ok, Ive been playing this games since February of 2016, and at that point, u could coop worldwide. But unfortunately XFlag had the most brightest idea of only adding local coop. Now this, *laugh* this was the worst idea ever. Let me explain. This game was great when the lower level beginners could heavily rely on the late game ableberry holders. I would greatly appreciate if the developers could bring back global coop please

Post update, this game has become soooooo boring. To potential new players, I wouldnt bother downloading this game, UNLESS they bring back the social media coop aspect. I loved this game, but no more. What used to be an amazing game was completely destroyed in one fell swoop. Ive been playing for over 500 days. Social coop was the best thing about the game. The community it built worldwide in chat rooms was the best! I could play with people from so many different countries and towns! I was able to get help clearing quests, advice, and built comradery even friendships. I looked forward to playing each day, and chatting with in the groups. With this new update youve essentially excised that fantastic and unique aspect that made this game truly awesome. This local coop only is terribly small thinking! If your trying to foster and build community, your moving backwards! Limiting the scope of who we can play with just seems counterintuitive!
